Colour & light
Colour and light design tunes a home's palette and its lighting to the hours the home is actually used. Bhumi Interior Studios plans colour and lighting schemes for houses and apartments in Hadapsar, Pune, layering daylight, ambient, task, and accent light so a room works at seven in the morning and again at nine at night.
Colour does not exist without light, so the two are one decision. A palette chosen under a showroom's white lighting will not survive contact with a warm evening lamp, and most homes are looked at hardest in the evening.
We ask what hours each room carries. A bedroom used at dawn and at midnight wants a different scheme from a living room that fills at eight in the evening. Then we layer: daylight first, then ambient, task, and accent, each on its own circuit so the room can be several rooms.
Fixtures come last and matter least. A well-planned circuit with plain fittings beats a beautiful lamp in the wrong place, every time.

Questions about colour & light
- What is layered lighting, and why does it matter?
- Layered lighting means a room has separate, separately switched sources: ambient light for the whole space, task light where you read or cook, and accent light on the surfaces worth seeing. A single ceiling fixture makes a room one thing. Layers let it be several, which is what a home needs across a day.
- Can you fix a room that feels cold or flat?
- Usually, and usually without repainting. Flatness is almost always a lighting problem: one source, from above, at the wrong colour temperature. We look at the light before we look at the colour.
